Why Longmont Dish?

Food. Oh, the many, many wonderful things I can say about food. I mean who really can say enough about it. It's actually an incredibly powerful thing when you think about it. It can make or break your day. It can change your mood instantly. It makes a great bribe, especially when dessert is involved. One thing is for sure food runs my life. I'm usually planning my next meal even when I'm eating my current meal. It's always on my mind and if I go too long without it, I transform into...well honestly a raging bitch. I've been this way since birth really. My Mother always called it the bewitching hour, from the first tinge of pain in your stomach until the first bite is achieved. All the people in my life know not to come between me and food and drinks. Speaking of drinks, I'm also a big fan of those so don't worry this site will also talk about my favorite spots to grab a drink and what we're mixing up at home. Any hoo, I realized the Longmont really doesn't have a great source for finding the best and avoiding the worst places. So since I already spend most of my days researching my next meal, it was an easy decision to do something about this lack. So ta da, I created this blog so I can help other Longmont foodies find their next meal without turning into a bitch. *All opinions are my own, I'm not paid to write anything nice or mean it's all based on my experiences. So if you're a restaurant owner, please don't spit in my food. Just take into account this is how one customer felt and maybe consider making some changes. ;-)

Why Longmont?

Nice people, great views, no traffic, no parking meters, small but not too small, 35 minutes to Fort Collins or Denver, affordable housing, safe, the list just goes on and on. I love that Longmont has all of the conveniences of a big city, but still somehow has the sense of community you get from small towns. Within minutes you can drive from downtown main street and feel like you’re in the middle of farm country. We’re surrounded by gorgeous mountain ranges and country side. There’s room to breathe without any shortage of people watching. Personally, it’s exactly where I want to be. Longmont was founded in 1870 when a group of settlers from Chicago decided to purchase 60,000 acres and sell “membership” into the town. 146 years later Longmont is frequently voted one of the best cities to live in nation wide. Longmont even has its own town website, if you want to learn more about this magical place we call home.
