Nice people, great views, no traffic, no parking meters, small but not too small, 35 minutes to Fort Collins or Denver, affordable housing, safe, the list just goes on and on. I love that Longmont has all of the conveniences of a big city, but still somehow has the sense of community you get from small towns. Within minutes you can drive from downtown main street and feel like you’re in the middle of farm country. We’re surrounded by gorgeous mountain ranges and country side. There’s room to breathe without any shortage of people watching. Personally it’s exactly where I want to be.
Longmont was founded in 1870 when a group of settlers from Chicago decided to purchase 60,000 acres and sell “membership” into the town. 146 years later Longmont is frequently voted one of the best cities to live in nation wide. Longmont even has its own town website, if you want to learn more about this magical place we call home.
